GREENSBORO -- Bethune-Cookman
got off to a tremendous start on Monday afternoon and used to defeat North
Carolina A&T 18-4 in MEAC softball action at the Lady Aggies Softball
Complex.
The Wildcats took control over the
game in the first three innings, as they scored six runs in the first, seven
runs in the second and five runs in the third. The Aggies did not answer back
until the bottom of the fourth when Tranea Jones hit a double to center field,
followed by a two-run home run from Sabrina Edmonds.
The Aggies were able to hold off
the Wildcats defensively in the top of the fifth with zero runs and zero hits. In
the bottom of the fifth, the Aggies snagged two more runs after two-run RBI from Dominique Smith and Jones.
The Aggies will take on the Western
Carolina Catamounts at home in a Thursday doubleheader at 3 p.m.
