GREENSBORO - Thirteen players scored for Charlotte Tuesday night in an 89-58 win over the North Carolina A&T women's basketball team at Corbett Sports Center.
Kendria Holmes and Shannon McCallum led the way for the 49ers with 13 points apiece. The 49ers out-rebounded the Aggies 58-44.
Charlotte pulled away from the Aggies for good with an 8-0 run that was fueled by two Gabby Tyler breakaway layups. When Kendria Holmes found Jessica Johnson cutting to the basket for an open jump shot, the 49ers took a 61-40 lead with 12:06 to play.
Senior Jaleesa Sams led the Aggies with 15 points. Nikia Gorham added 10 points and 11 rebounds.
The Aggies open up conference play on Saturday when they face Norfolk State 7 p.m., Saturday from Corbett Sports Center.
