Position coach Chenniss Berry says he can simply do things his other mates can't...Benches approximately 400 pounds and has squat max close to 550 pounds...Coaches want his work ethic to be more consistent and they want him to keep his weight steady.

2009 Season: Charged with protecting the back side of the Aggie quarterbacks...Started seven  games at the left tackle position...Did not start over a three-game stretch that included games against Howard, Bethune-Cookman and Florida A&M...Returned to his starting left tackle position against S.C. State on Nov. 21...Played more than 484 snaps during the season.

2008 Season: Played in 12 games with 12 starts...Graded out well against Johnson C. Smith, N.C. Central and Winston-Salem State.

WOODLAWN HIGH: Recorded 107 pancake blocks during his career...graded out at 91 percent on a consistent basis...Runs a 5.3 in the 40...Was an All-District wrestler...Signed with the Aggies on Jan. 14, 2007...Won a state championship as a wrestler...He also participated in track and field during his career.

PERSONAL: Full name is Alex Harper...He is the son of Camille DeNeal and Aliven Harper...He has two siblings, Carl and Kiven...He was born on Aug. 31, 1989...He is a sports science major...He says his wrestling high school coach was the biggest influence in his life because he was a father figure to him.
