Barkhimer brought additional power to the Aggies pitching staff as a freshman … She proved to be a valuable part of the Aggies pitching rotation in 2023 as the Aggies improved from three wins in the Big South Conference in 2022 to 10 wins and a CAA tournament berth in 2023 … Barkhimer can also step in and bat for the Aggies … She has 81 career at-bats with two home runs …In two seasons in the circle, she has made 46 appearances with 29 starts … She has a career 3.83 ERA in 175.1 innings pitched … Has also posted 101 strikeouts … Competed at the highest level before arriving on A&T’s campus, including Power Five-type recruits … Brings athleticism and a strong presence in the circle.
2023 Season: Made 22 appearances with 17 starts in the circle … Played in 38 games total with 32 starts … As a pitcher, she posted a 4-10 record with a 3.70 ERA in 83.1 innings pitched … Totaled 48 strikeouts, 48 walks and one complete game … Surrendered 69 runs with 44 of those runs earned … Thirty-seven of her strikeout victims were swinging … Pitched eight innings of shutout softball, giving up six hits and striking out three to lead the Aggies to a 1-0 win in nine innings against Monmouth on April 7 … The next day, Barkhimer also got the winning decision by pitching 3.1 innings of relief, giving up one earned run and striking out two in the Aggies 7-2 win over the Hawks … For her efforts, Barkhimer earned CAA co-pitcher of the week accolades on April 10 … Had five or more strikeouts three times during the season … As a batter, she batted .204 with two home runs and three RBI … She played in 12 games as the Aggies first baseman and three games as the designated player … Had a home run in the Aggies 10-8 win over NCCU on Feb. 10 … Went 3-for-3 with two RBI, a run scored and a home run in the Aggies 6-2 win over Quinnipiac in the first game of a doubleheader on March 14.
2022 Season: Pitched in 24 games with 12 starts … Recorded four complete games … Led the team in appearances, starts and complete games … Posted a 5-6 record to lead the team in wins … Posted a 3.96 ERA with 53 strikeouts in 92 innings pitched … She ranked second in the Big South in batters faced per game (34.6) … Started the season 5-0 with a 2.35 ERA in the first nine games … Recorded a career-high nine strikeouts, gave up two runs and pitched seven innings as the Aggies defeated Fairleigh Dickinson on Feb. 18 to give Barkhimer her first collegiate win … Pitched a four-inning shutout against N.C. Central on March 1 … Went 1-for-2 at No. 20 Auburn on March 5 to record her first collegiate hit … Recorded her first collegiate RBI and scored against FDU on Feb. 19.
High School: Played her high school softball at Santana … Was named to the all-freshman team in 2017 and was on the honor roll for four years … She also played basketball in high school, winning the league in two consecutive seasons (2019 & 2020) and played summer ball for the Athletics Jendro.
