Taliya brings an athletic combo guard to the North Carolina A&T women’s basketball program, who can create plays for herself and teammates … Has a high-level ability to defend … She is a great fit to the program because she loves to defend … Should see her playing time increase as  she continues to improve as a player … Her twin sister Tamyra plays on the team, and they chose A&T over Charlotte, East Carolina, Indiana State, UNC Wilmington, Appalachian State, Norfolk State, Detroit, North Carolina Central and Georgia Southern.

2022-23 Season: Played in 17 games with one start … Averaged 1.8 points and 1.2 rebounds per game while averaging 8.4 minutes per game … Made her first career start on Dec. 10 against Johnson & Wales, where she posted a season-high eight points, a season-high five rebounds and played a season-high 22 minutes in a 110-40 win over J&W … Also shot 3-for-7 from the floor and 2-for-5 from 3-point range and added three assists and a steal … Posted six points against St. Andrews on Nov. 11.

High School: Played her high school basketball at St. Pauls under head coach Mike Moses, Jr … Averaged 12.0 points, 6.4 rebounds and 2.3 steals per game as a senior, earning first-team all-conference and first-team All-Robeson County accolades … As a junior, she averaged 10.6 points, 9.5 rebounds, 3.5 steals and 2.6 blocks per game.
