He committed to North Carolina A&T in February of 2022 ... Played some safety in high school … Enters the 2023 season on the depth chart at outside linebacker ... Has the reputation of being a tackling machine with a knack for snuffing out the ball carrier. 

2022 Season: He did not play during the season. 

High School: He played his high school football at Whitewater in Fayetteville, Ga., under head coach Chad Frazier ... As a junior, he compiled 84 tackles, including 50 unassisted tackles ... Compiled 104 tackles as a senior with 67 unassisted tackles, and he intercepted two passes ... Led Whitewater to an 11-2 record as a senior ... In the process, the Wildcats won their first playoff game in nine years, winning two playoff games Benton's senior season to reach the state quarterfinals.
