Head coach Hal Clifton said he knew Shabazz would be a good fit for the N.C. A&T volleyball program the first time he saw her play … Had perhaps her best season as an Aggie during the 2019 season that saw the Aggies go 13-1 in the MEAC which was a school record for conference wins … Followed up her excellent 2019 season in the spring of 2021 after the worldwide pandemic forced the 2020 fall season to be canceled … She returned to form by leading the Aggies in kills per set, leading the Aggies to their first-ever MEAC championship and NCAA appearance  … Has quickness at the net and possesses the ability to play above the net … She is a very exciting player for Aggie fans to watch  … Has a fast arm swing and can generate space behind the ball … Attack attempts are hard to defend because of her ability to create angles with her leaping ability ... She proved to be an effective blocker during her first two seasons of action and an effective attacker during her second season … Has played in 71 matches over 187 sets played with 12 career starts … Has 505 kills, 119 blocks and 91 digs…Has a career .252 hitting percentage … Helped the program reach its first-ever postseason appearance with a match against Troy in the National Invitational Volleyball Championship (NIVC) tournament in 2019.  
 
2021 Spring Season: Played in 13 matches and 45 sets with four starts … Named to the All-MEAC First Team and to the MEAC All-Tournament Team … Led the team and the MEAC with 3.69 kills per set and ranked ninth in the conference in blocks per set (0.64) … Recorded 11 matches of 10-plus kills, including two matches of 20-plus kills … Ranked fifth in the MEAC with a .336 hitting percentage … Recorded a career-high 25 kills at East Carolina with a .467 hitting percentage in a 3-2 upset win on Feb. 5  … Recorded a career-high seven blocks against Delaware State with 20 kills and five digs in the MEAC tournament semifinals on April 2 at Norfolk State University … In conference play only, Shabazz led the MEAC in kills per set (3.79), ranked third in hitting percentage (.387) and was tied for eighth in blocks per set (0.50).                       
 
2019 Season: Played in all 31 matches and all 115 sets with eight starts … Recorded 307 kills, 80 blocks and 56 digs for an average of 2.72 kills, 0.71 blocks and 0.50 digs … Set a career-high 20 kills against Drake (Sept. 21) and recorded 14 matches of 10-plus kills … Against the MEAC Florida schools (Bethune-Cookman and Florida A&M), she averaged 3.50 kills and 0.25 blocks with both matches of 10-plus kills and she hit .270 … recorded a .611 hitting percentage (13-2-18) against Alabama A&M (Sept. 14) and hit .538 (7-0-13) against Florida A&M (Nov. 17).
2018 Season: Played in 27 sets over 17 matches with no starts … Recorded 32 kills and 10 blocks and averaged 1.19 kills and 0.37 blocks … Recorded a season-high eight kills against Maryland Eastern Shore on Nov. 16 in the MEAC Volleyball Championship Tournament with a .312 hitting percentage … Posted a season-high two blocks against Jackson State on Aug. 25, Florida A&M on Sept. 28 and at FAMU on Oct. 26.
2017 Season: Took a redshirt season ... 
High School:  Played four years of varsity volleyball at Northwest High School … Named Conference Co-player of the Year in 2016 and third-team All-City…Was a Cincinnati Enquirer Female Athlete of the Year nominee in 2016…Named first-team All-Conference in 2015 and was honorable mention All-City… Named SWOC Player of the Year in 2014… She was also an accomplished basketball and track & field athlete.
Personal:  Full name is Fatimah Aliyyah Nailah Shabazz…Daughter of Lisa Blaine… Grandfather Leonard Blaine was a Hall of Fame basketball player at Central State University…Born Sept. 19, 1999, and is majoring in pre-physical therapy…Sees herself as an occupational therapist with a Ph.D. in 10 years … Her favorite television show is Impractical Jokers and favorite food is chicken wings.
