Biography

She enters her first season in the Big South as a three-time first-team All-MEAC selection ... Had a breakout season as a sophomore becoming the first player in 14 seasons to record three straight 20-kill matches ... Followed that campaign by being one of the top hitters in the MEAC …  Earned MEAC all-tournament honors in 2019 ... Older sister Alyssa was the Aggies starting right side hitter for three seasons ... Courteney should end her career as one of the top hitters in school history ... She is just the third player in school history with more than 1,000 career kills joining Arlene Mitchell and Brooke Stamnes… Can play in the middle and on the outside … Has a powerful arm and a great build to dominate at the net … Her ability to hit lots of tempo sets will make the Aggies offense more diverse … Possesses the ability to terminate balls on a consistent basis which should help the Aggies hitting percentage … Earned All-MEAC rookie honors in 2017 ... 2021 Spring Season: Played in 12 matches with seven starts and in 41 sets … Averaged 2.32 kills, which ranked eighth in the MEAC … Recorded three matches of 10-plus kills, including a season-high 16 kills in the season opener against East Carolina (Feb. 5) … Also recorded a season-high eight digs against ECU (Feb. 5) … Recorded her 1,000th career kill against North Carolina Central (Feb. 19) … In conference play, Pitt ranked fourth in the MEAC with a .373 hitting percentage and averaged 2.25 kills.

2019 Season: Played in all 31 matches and 113 of the 115 sets … Ranked fourth in the MEAC in kills per set (3.40) … Recorded 384 kills which was the eighth-best showing in school history … Recorded two double-doubles against UNC Asheville (Sept. 7) and Western Carolina (Sept. 20) with 17 kills and 13 digs and 32 kills and 11 digs  … Recorded a career-high 32 kills against Western Carolina for the second-most in school history for a single match and recorded 26 kills against N.C. Central (Oct. 1) to tie for third-most in school history … Also recorded 25 kills against Gardner-Webb … In a four-match stretch against Gardner-Webb (Sept. 13), Alabama A&M (Sept. 14), USC Upstate (Sept. 17) and Western Carolina (Sept. 20) recorded 95 kills, 27 digs and six service aces for an average of 5.94 kills, 1.69 digs and 0.38 service aces … Recorded 16 matches of 10-plus kills including four matches of 20-plus … Recorded four matches of 10-plus digs including a career-best 13 digs against UNC Asheville … Tied a career-high with four blocks at Bethune-Cookman (Oct. 11) and at Florida A&M (Oct. 13).

2018 Season: Played in all 93 sets with 24 starts and averaged 3.96 kills, 0.29 service aces, 1.45 digs and 0.34 blocks … Led the team with 368 kills and added 27 service aces, 135 digs and 32 blocks … Earned first-team All-MEAC honors after leading the league in kills per set … Ranked second in the league in points per set (4.45) … Ranked 55thin the nation in kills per set and 128thin total attacks … Ranked 62ndin the nation in points per set … Recorded 19 matches with double-figure kills and four matches with 20-plus kills … Recorded a season-high 24 kills at Morgan State on Sept. 21 with a .276 hitting percentage and at Coppin State on Sept. 22 with a .396 hitting percentage … Posted two double-doubles during the season … Had 17 kills and a season-high 11 digs in a win over Jackson State on Aug. 25 …. Had 24 digs and 10 digs at Coppin State on Sept. 22 … Had a season-high four blocks against N.C. Central and added 11 kills and a .333 hitting percentage … Recorded a season-high .576 hitting percentage (20-1-33) in a four-setter against Norfolk State and a .520 hitting percentage (15-2-25) against Savannah State (11/4) … Posted 86 kills in 16 sets averaging 5.38 kills and added 31 digs averaging 1.94 digs in four matches from Sept. 11-22 versus Gardner-Webb, Norfolk State, Morgan State and Coppin State. 

2017 Season: Played in 28 matches with nine starts in 94 sets played … Totaled 223 kills (2.37 per set) with 125 errors on 665 total attacks … Completed the season with a .147 hitting percentage … Had 47 digs (0.50), 23 blocks (0.24) and 17 service aces (0.18) … Finished second on the team in points with 254.0 (2.70) and in kills … Named Co-MEAC Rookie of the Week (Oct. 2) … Posted double-figure kills nine times ... Had a season-best 17 versus Alabama State in the ISTAP tournament...Had 13 kills on a .231 hitting percentage in a 3-0 win over S.C. State...Followed that performance with 15 kills and two services on a .265 hitting percentage in a close 3-2 loss at Bethune-Cookman on Oct. 13  ... Posted 13 kills and two service aces in a 3-2 win at arch-rival N.C. Central on Sept. 28 ... In the second match between the two rivals, she had 11 kills on a .233 hitting percentage in a 3-0 Aggies win on Oct. 27

High School: Played four years on varsity at Farmville Central … Averaged 4.92 kills per set as a senior … Played for the East Carolina Juniors Volleyball Club … Finished with more than 1,000 kills during her prep career at Farmville Central … Also played softball and basketball in high school.
