GREENSBORO – North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University's volleyball program will hold its annual First Serve Banquet to raise funds for the program.

The festivities take place after the Aggies face fellow HBCU Fayetteville State in an exhibition match at Corbett Sports Center at 1 p.m. on Saturday, August 22. Head coach Hal Clifton, his staff and players will then join fans for the First Serve Banquet at 6 p.m. on Saturday, August 22 at Deese Ballroom inside the Student Center on the campus of North Carolina A&T.

"We are very excited to be hosting our second annual First Serve Banquet," said Clifton, who is closing in on being the program's all-time winningest coach. As he enters his 16^th season, he is also the longest-tenured coach in program history and the longest-tenured active coach in A&T Athletics. "This is a great opportunity for the Aggie community to meet our team while we raise funds for our volleyball program. There are many items that we would like to add to our program that do not fit the budget."

Some of the purchases that could help the Aggies win a Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) title include a Catch-It Trainer for the Aggie setters and passers. Other items needed include a step-and-repeat banner, locker-room items, power floor cleaner for Moore Gymnasium, and visual training aids.

"We are also putting money into our foreign trip fund so that we can offer our players a once-in-a-lifetime experience of traveling abroad with their teammates," said Clifton. "We have already traveled on two of these trips in the past eight years, and it is huge for our program."

The night will give fans and the community a chance to meet the 2026 A&T volleyball team. Each player will sit with guests at a table so Aggie Nation can learn more about them beyond their statistics. The guest speaker is Skyler Fields, a three-time All-American and current League One Volleyball (LOVB) Minnesota pro team player.

Those unable to attend in person may still participate in the live auction remotely and support the volleyball program by donating on the First Serve website. The community can also support the team throughout the season. The Aggies' home opener is Thursday, Sept. 10 against the North Carolina Central University (NCCU) Eagles at 6 p.m., from Corbett.
