GREENSBORO – The defending Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) regular-season champion North Carolina A&T Aggies women's basketball team will open its 2025-26 non-conference schedule with a swing through the southwest portion of the United States before returning home to face three women's programs from North Carolina.
Some familiar faces will not appear on the court for the Aggies in 2025-26, including two-time first-team All-CAA performer Jordyn Dorsey, who also claimed All-CAA Defensive Team honors as well in 2024-25. Three-year starter Maleia Bracone has also exited the program after exhausting her eligibility with two third-team All-CAA honors and two All-CAA Defensive Team recognitions.
But there are plenty of very familiar faces back in the fold, including that of D'Mya Tucker, who has battled injuries and a pandemic to return for her sixth season in Aggieland. Double-double machine and fifth-year senior Chaniya Clark, who earned third-team All-CAA accolades a year ago, also returns along with junior Paris Locke after averaging 10.1 points per game last season.
Another familiar face in A&T women's basketball is head coach and reigning CAA Coach of the Year Tarrell Robinson, who will be entering his 14th season in 2025-26.
"Our thought process has not changed when it comes to how to prepare to win a championship and play in the postseason," said Robinson, the program's all-time leader in wins (248).
"You play the best of those that will play you. We also understand the importance of our HBCU culture and rivalries. After that, we made sure that we had home games that our fans would enjoy."
The Aggies southwest adventure starts on Monday, November 3, when they travel to Lubbock, Texas, to face the Red Raiders of Texas Tech.
They will then travel approximately 4 ½ hours across the large state of Texas to face the TCU Horned Frogs in Fort Worth on Thursday, November 6. They close out their southwest journey with a trip to the University of New Mexico to face the Lobos in Albuquerque on Sunday, November 9.
Three straight home games await the Aggies after those three road games, starting with the home opener against the Shaw University Bears on Wednesday, November 12. Local and HBCU rival Winston-Salem State University (WSSU) comes to Corbett Sports Center on Sunday, November 16, before the Aggies host the University of North Carolina for the second straight season.
The Tar Heels will return to Corbett on Thursday, November 20, after beating A&T last season 66-47 on the East side of Greensboro.
After playing two Division II HBCUs at home in Shaw and WSSU, the Aggies will go on the road to face two Division I HBCUs, starting with North Carolina Central University (NCCU) on Tuesday, December 2 in Durham, NC, before traveling to Norfolk, Va., to face the Norfolk State Spartans on Saturday, December 6.
After taking a break for exams, the Aggies return to action on Monday, December 15, when they travel to Athens, Ga., to face the SEC's Georgia Bulldogs. A&T will finish its non-conference schedule with two home games, a December 20 contest against Ferrum and a New Year's Eve tilt against Newberry.
The Aggies are still awaiting the release of the CAA schedule by the conference.
