GREENSBORO – As the 2025 Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) Women's Basketball Championship Tournament approaches, senior guard Jordyn Dorsey added two more accolades to her vast collection on Monday when the CAA named her player of the week, and BOXTOROW named her HBCU National Player of the Week.
Dorsey had a superb week, helping the Aggies first claim a share of the CAA regular-season championship and clinch the No. 1 seed in the conference tournament with a 77-52 win over William & Mary at Corbett Sports Center on Thursday. Two days later, she led the Aggies to a 65-54 victory over UNC Wilmington, guaranteeing the outright CAA regular-season championship.
Against the Tribe on Thursday, Dorsey scored a career-high 27 points on 9-for-9 shooting from the free throw line. She also had five assists, four rebounds and three steals. Her five assists put her on the verge of becoming the program's all-time assist leader.
She came into A&T's game needing six assists to pass Ta'Wuana "Tweet" Cook as A&T women's basketball's all-time assist leader. She followed up her 27-point performance by scoring 23 on 6-for-6 shooting from the line. She is still two assists shy of becoming A&T's all-time leader after posting four assists, five rebounds, two steals and one blocked shot.
Dorsey averaged 25.0 points, 4.5 rebounds, 4.5 assists, and 2.5 steals for the week. She also went 15-for-15 from the line and has made 22 consecutive free throws.
The Aggies open play in the CAA tournament on Friday, March 14, at noon at CareFirst Arena in Washington, DC, against the winner of the Hofstra/William & Mary Thursday afternoon game.
