GREENSBORO – North Carolina A&T graduate kicker Andrew Brown continues to put an assault on record books in his final season as a collegiate football player.
On Saturday against Monmouth at Truist Stadium, Brown made four field goals, including three from 50 yards or more, in the loss to the Hawks. As a result, the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) named Brown its special teams player of the week on Monday, marking the third time this season he has won the award.
Brown made history by becoming the first CAA player in CAA to kick three field goals of 53 or more yards in a game. After making a 31-yarder in the first quarter, the senior connected on kicks of 55, 53 and 53 yards. Brown, A&T's career leader in field goals, is 14-of-17 for the season, including 5-for-5 from 50-plus yard field goals.
He is also the first Aggie to have multiple 50-plus-yard field goals in a single game. Brown is also the only kicker in school history to have multiple 50-plus-yard field goals in a season. He has done it twice.
"The guy's amazing," said A&T head coach Shawn Gibbs at his weekly press conference on Monday. "I keep saying, 'Why hasn't he gotten a Legacy Bowl invite?' Is there a kicker better than him in HBCU football? Show him to me. I would like to see him. Without him on Saturday, things would have been even worse. So, thank you, Andrew."
Brown goes into the 2025 season finale against Elon with 50 career field goals, seven from 50 yards or more. He also holds the school record for attempts with 70. He has 251 career points, fourth on the Aggies' all-time list behind Tarik Cohen (354), Cody Jones (298) and Stoney Polite (284).
Brown and the Aggies return to action against Elon on Saturday, November 22, when they face the Phoenix at 2 p.m. from Rhodes Stadium.
