GREENSBORO – North Carolina A&T graduate kicker Andrew Brown had quite the homecoming game. As a result, the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) Football Conference named him its co-Special Teams Player of the Week on Monday.
Brown scored 10 points for the Aggies last Saturday in their 22-16 loss to South Carolina State University (SCSU) during A&T's homecoming game at Truist Stadium. Most of those 10 points came from Brown's 3-for-3 day on kick field goals, including two record-breaking field goals.
Brown's 55-yard field goal with 3:33 remaining in the first half gave the Aggies a 6-0 lead over SCSU. It also constituted the longest field goal made in program history, surpassing his 52-yarder at Wake Forest last season, Noel Ruiz's 52-yarder against Elon on August 31, 2019, and Yonnick Matthew's 52-yarder at Elon on September 27, 2003.
As time expired in the first half on Saturday, Brown booted a 33-yard field goal to give A&T a 9-0 lead. The field goal made Brown the Aggies' all-time leader in field goals made with 43, breaking Cody Jones' record of 42 set from 2013-16.
"Not only is Andrew a good football player, but he is also one of the leaders on our team," said A&T head coach Shawn Gibbs. "He holds guys accountable, and he holds himself accountable. He is always ready, and he always steps up in big moments, so guys like Andrew are a pleasure to coach. I wish I had him for a couple more years. He has had an outstanding career, and to see him set school records is just outstanding."
In addition to breaking A&T records, Brown made some waves in other places. His 55-yard FG is tied for the fourth-longest in CAA history and matches the third-longest in FCS in 2025.
Brown and the Aggies have the week off before returning to action on Saturday, October 25, when they face the Campbell Fighting Camels at 1 p.m., from Truist Stadium.
