GREENSBORO – On Wednesday, three North Carolina A&T Aggie football players earned postseason honors from the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) Football Conference.
Senior cornerback Karon Prunty added to his collection of all-conference honors by earning third-team All-CAA recognition. Offensive lineman Korion Sharpe and kickoff returner Aaron Harris secured honorable mention accolades.
Prunty transferred to the A&T football program from the University of Kansas in 2022 after earning All-Big 12 honorable mention accolades. He also earned 247 True Freshman All-American recognition before landing on the east side of Greensboro. Once in place, he used the 2022 season to secure first-team All-Big South Conference honors.
A third different conference recognized Prunty's talents the following season when the CAA Football Conference named him a third-team all-conference selection. Prunty earned all-conference accolades for the fourth straight season by making 27 tackles, one sack, one interception, four pass breakups, and a quarterback hurry. Twenty-three of Prunty's tackles were solo.
Sharpe has also excelled in multiple conferences. Sharpe captured second-team All-Big South honors in 2022. After sustaining an injury last season that limited his participation. He returned this season and played and started in all 12 games, leading the way for six different running backs during the season.
Harris was one of the best kick returners in the nation. He returned the game's opening kickoff at North Carolina Central University (NCCU) 100 yards for a touchdown. It marked his second career touchdown return. Harris returned 13 kickoffs for 389 yards and the touchdown. He averaged 29.92 yards per kickoff.
In addition to his kickoff duties, Harris had a good season at the cornerback position opposite Prunty. He made 30 tackles, two for loss, and he recorded nine pass breakups. He returned his lone interception on the season 70 yards for a touchdown against the University of Delaware on September 14. Also on the special teams front, Harris had one blocked kick during the 2024 season. It came against Elon on November 23.
