RECENT HISTORY: These two teams played twice in 2011. The Panthers took both contests by a combined score of 18-2 inside War Memorial Stadium.

AGGIES OVERVIEW: The Aggies find themselves in the middle of an eight-game losing streak, including an 0-6 stretch in conference play.

They will get a break from Big South Conference action this weekend, however, as they travel to meet Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) foe Pittsburgh. Ironically, A&T's last win came against an in-state ACC opponent in the North Carolina Tar Heels on April 12.

The Aggies pitching has surrendered double-digit runs in seven of the last eight games. They are 0-15 this season when allowing 10 or more runs.

Brown comes into this weekend riding a streak of 10 games where he has reached base safely. He is batting .354 over the last 15 games and has hit both of his career home runs in that same span. However, the Aggies are looking to score more as they have totaled five or more runs just four times over their last eight games.

Head coach Ben Hall is in his eighth year at A&T and has an overall 153-219 (.417) record. Hall has enjoyed recent success against ACC schools, sweeping Boston College 2-0 in a shortened 2020 season, and he led the Aggies to their second victory of UNC in program history and the first since 1993 earlier this year.

PANTHERS OVERVIEW:  The Panthers come into this weekend fresh off a weekend series loss, 2-1, to the fourth-ranked Miami Hurricanes. On Sunday, Pittsburgh did take the series finale, 9-4, to carry some momentum into their series with A&T. The Panthers are 8-4 at home this season.

ACC voters projected Pitt to finish seventh in the Coastal Division of the ACC, receiving 24 total points before the season.

They hold series victories over two conference opponents ranked in the top-5 in No. 5 Louisville (W, 2-1, April 2-3) and No. 5 Virginia (W, 2-1, April 15-17).

Junior outfielder Kyle Hess leads the Pittsburgh bats with a .330 mark. Junior catcher Tatem Levins isn't far behind at .319, and he also sports a club-high 13 home runs and 39 RBI. They have three players batting over the .300-mark, joined by senior infielder Bryce Hulett (.305).

The Panther pitching staff has four throwers sitting below a 5.00 ERA, led by senior Matt Gilbertson's 2.94. Gilbertson also boasts a team-best 60 strikeouts in 64.1 innings pitched, aiding him to six wins thus far.

Head coach Mike Bell is in his fourth year at the helm of Pitt's baseball program and has a dead-even overall record of 76-76. He is coming off his first winning season after leading the Panthers to a 23-20 record in 2021.
