The Aggie bats are third in the conference with a .267 average. A&T's 51 doubles tie the team for first in the Big South. Â
A&T is tops in the conference in team ERA at 4.40, just ahead of second-place Campbell (4.48). A&T has nine arms with sub-5.00 ERAs, including two-weekend starters in Brown (4.02) and Winebarger (4.73).Â
The hope is to get off to good starts early in games this weekend, as A&T is 7-1 when it is the first team to score. Also, the Aggies are 7-1 when they score in the first inning.Â
Head coach Ben Hall is in season No. 8 and holds a 151-206 (.421) record at A&T.Â
BUCCANEERS OVERVIEW:Â Â The Bucs are coming off a 17-3 midweek loss to the 22nd-ranked Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets.Â
CSU is already two weeks into Big South play. The Bucs took two of three from Radford in their opening conference series before the UNC Asheville Bulldogs swept CSU last weekend.Â
Picked to finish seventh by league head coaches in the Big South's preseason poll, the Bucs bats are tied with A&T for third in the conference, batting .267. They have scored 180 runs in 27 games (6.67 runs per game) and have six contests with a double-digit run total.Â
Sophomore Hayden Harris is batting a team-best .375 (4th in the Big South) with seven doubles, five home runs and 19 RBI.Â
As for pitching, CSU is eighth in the league in team ERA (6.69). They have allowed double-digit runs in eight games this year, including the last two. Their staff has four players with a sub-5.00 ERA, led by junior lefty Kaleb Hill's 4.50 mark. Junior right-hander Jerry Couch leads the team in strikeouts with 29.Â
Head coach Marc MacMillan is in his second year as the Bucs head coach and has a 28-43 record (.394).Â
