Unearned Runs Hurt A&T Softball at Longwood

The Aggies dropped their third straight to the Lancers.

The Lancers scored seven runs, six unearned, in the fifth inning to run-rule the Aggies for the second time in the series.</span><br />  </p> <p style="color: rgb(14, 16, 26); background: transparent; margin-top:0pt; margin-bottom:0pt;"><span data-preserver-spaces="true" style="color: rgb(14, 16, 26); background: transparent; margin-top:0pt; margin-bottom:0pt;;">Alexis Wayland started the scoring with an RBI double and another run scored on a throwing error to increase the lead to 3-0.</span><br />  </p> <p style="color: rgb(14, 16, 26); background: transparent; margin-top:0pt; margin-bottom:0pt;"><span data-preserver-spaces="true" style="color: rgb(14, 16, 26); background: transparent; margin-top:0pt; margin-bottom:0pt;;">Jacobsen hit an RBI single to drive home Wayland for a 4-0 lead, and Korynna Anderson hit a two-run double down the left field line to increase the lead to 6-0. Lauren Fox hit an RBI single for a 7-0 lead, and Sydney Guess hit an RBI single for the game's final run.</span><br />  </p> <p style="color: rgb(14, 16, 26); background: transparent; margin-top:0pt; margin-bottom:0pt;"><span data-preserver-spaces="true" style="color: rgb(14, 16, 26); background: transparent; margin-top:0pt; margin-bottom:0pt;;">Kendall Macauley recorded the only Aggie hit, while S'Nyiah Stinson (2-5) picked up the loss pitching 4.2 innings giving up six runs, one earned, on four hits.</span></p> <p style="color: rgb(14, 16, 26); background: transparent; margin-top:0pt; margin-bottom:0pt;"></p>
