EAST GREENSBORO – A 256-yard rushing performance that included two touchdowns of 40-plus yards welcomes multitudes of attention. North Carolina A&T sophomore Bhayshul Tuten had those 256 yards during the Greatest Homecoming on Earth in a game for first place in the Big South Conference. 0244_TutenAgain

Those facts garnered him two national weekly honors and a Big South weekly honor on Monday.

Tuten is this week's FedEx Ground Stats Preform national offensive player of the week. In addition, the Big South named him its offensive player of the week, and Boxtorow Radio joined the party by naming Tuten its HBCU offensive player of the week.

Tuten helped the Aggies come from behind to beat Campbell 45-38 last Saturday after the Aggies trailed 28-10 at halftime. Tuten, who had a 42-yard touchdown run in the first half, got the Aggies going in the second half with a 70-yard touchdown run. He then had two nine-yard runs on A&T's final drive to run out the clock.

"It was the big guys open up those holes up front," said Tuten during a press conference on Monday. "I just saw a hole, and then I just do what I do. We practiced those plays all week, so it will hit in the game. All I have to do is do my job and finish strong."

No other Aggie has rushed for more yards during a homecoming game than Tuten. His big day put him over 1,000 rushing yards for the season, making him the 10th different Aggie to rush for 1,000 yards in a season. An Aggie has rushed for 1,000 yards in a season 11 times since 2007 and eight times in nine seasons.

Tuten has rushed for more than 100 yards in seven straight games, a school record. If Tuten rushes for more than 100 yards in each of the Aggies final three games, he will break the Big South's record for consecutive 100-yard games set by Liberty's Rashad Jennings in 2008. In addition, Tuten would break A&T's record for 100-yard games in a season, which Tarik Cohen set in 2015. The Big South's record for 100-yard games in a season is 10, held by Jennings (2008).

Tuten and the Aggies are back in action at noon on Saturday when they take on fellow HBCU Norfolk State at Truist Stadium.
