NORTH CAROLINA A&T AGGIES (4-10, 1-3 Big South): The Aggies won their first-ever Big South Conference game Wednesday night with an 88-50 win over Charleston Southern at Corbett Sports Center.

A season-high six Aggies scored in double-figures led by Chanin Scott's 15 off the bench, followed by Faith Blackstone with a career-high 14 points and Shareka McNeill also scored 14.  

Head coach Tarrell Robinson enters his 10th season with a 179-102 overall record and is coming off his third Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) championship last season. In Corbett Sports Center, the Aggies have a 95-25 under Robinson.

WINTHROP EAGLES (2-12, 0-3 Big South): The Eagles have lost their last 10 Big South games, including a 54-41 loss against Campbell in the tournament last season.

J'Mani Ingram is the only Eagle averaging double-figures at 10.8 points per game. Myra Strickland averages 9.4 points per game, and Sierra Hunter leads the team with 7.7 rebounds per game.

Semeka Randall Lay is in her first full season as the full-time coach of the Winthrop Eagles after serving as the interim head coach during the 2020-21 season. She joined the program in 2019 as the associate head coach after serving a year as an assistant coach at the University of Cincinnati. She is the 17th head coach in program history.

THE SERIES:  A&T holds a 5-1 advantage over Winthrop, but the two schools have split the last two meetings. The Aggies won the last meeting, 81-56, in Rock Hill, S.C., on Nov 14, 2010.

QUOTABLE: "Coming off our best performance of the year in Big South play, we're hoping to produce that same result on Saturday. The combination of playing tough and hard-nose defense and sharing the basketball is the key to doing that."

• In the last four games, Kiana Adderton averaged 12.0 points, 7.8 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.8 steals with two double-doubles.
• Chanin Scott has scored double figures in six of her last nine games. She has 10-plus rebounds in three of her last eight games played. 
• In the last six games, the Aggies have three players averaging double figures in guard Shareka McNeill (16.0), forward Chanin Scott (14.3) and center Jazmin Harris (13.6).
• The Aggies will play 10 games in 22 days (Jan. 21 – Feb. 12) because of three postponed and rescheduled games due to COVID. 
• Head coach Tarrell Robinson is 13 wins shy of becoming the program's all-time leader in wins. He is 21 wins shy of 200 wins at A&T. It will make him the third basketball coach – men or women – to win 200 games at A&T. 
• The Aggies are starting to heat up offensively. In their last three games, they are shooting .486 from the field and .407 (22-for-54) from 3-point range.
