AGGIES OVERVIEW: North Carolina A&T women's basketball begins postseason play with the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Championship. The Aggies enter the tournament as the No. 1 seed out of the south.
The No. 2 north seed Morgan State defeated No. 3 south seed North Carolina Central 74-64 in the semifinals Thursday to advance to face the Aggies.
Last time out, the Aggies defeated NCCU 84-54 and 78-56 to finish up the regular season in the last weekend of February at Corbett Sports Center.

Chanin Scott and
Deja Winters lead the Aggies as the scoring duo ranks third and fourth in the conference respectively in points per game.                                      Â
Scott made a strong case for player of the year after ranking after ranking in the top-5 in seven different statistical categories in the conference, including points per game, rebounds per game, field goal percentage (.450), steals (2.5), assist-to –turnover (1.4) offensive rebounding (3.7) and minutes played per game (31.8).

Tarrell Robinson leads A&T. Robinson is in his eighth season as head coach. He enters today's game with a 173-91 (.655) record and has the best winning percentage in school history. He is 19 wins shy of becoming the school's all-time leader in wins, and he has posted an impressive 99-29 (.773) record against
MEAC opponents without ever having a losing season in league play. Under Robinson, the Aggies have five 20-win seasons, two
MEAC tournament titles, three regular-season titles and five postseason appearances. Â
The Aggies are 12-6 in the MEAC tournament under Robinson.
MORGAN STATE OVERVIEW: Morgan has won the last four games including the win over NCCU in the tournament. Against the top seed in the north, the Bears went 2-2 against Howard.
The Bears are led by Dahnye Redd with a 13.2 points per game and 7.1 rebounds per game average. Ja'Niah Nenson averages 12.0 points and Ashia McCalla averages 10.9 points.
The Aggies hold a 40-24 record over the Bears. The last time these two schools faced in the MEAC tournament was in the 2011-12 season when the Aggies defeated Morgan 66-53.Â
Morgan is led by veteran head coach Ed Davis, Jr. Davis enters the 2020-21 campaign as his fifth season at the helm of the Morgan women's basketball program and his ninth season overall with the Lady Bears after spending the previous four seasons as an assistant coach at Morgan. Davis, who brings more than 20 years of coaching experience, joined the Lady Bears' program after spending 12 seasons as the head coach at Delaware State.

Davis led DSU to the most successful run in the history of the program. He concluded his career at DSU as the program'sÂ
winningest coach with an overall record of 178-182 (.494), including a 121-85 (.587) Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (
MEAC) record.
