EAST GREENSBORO – North Carolina A&T will play a spring football schedule exclusively made up of Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) teams starting in February.
The MEAC released the spring schedule for its football playing schools they attempt to win their fourth straight Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) title and their sixth in the last seven years before leaving the conference for the Big South in the fall of 2021.
Before conference play begins in 2020, the Aggies will have three intriguing non-conference conference games starting with a matchup against Division II program Shaw University on Sept. 5 at BB&T Stadium. After playing the Bears, the Aggies will face the Liberty Flames, a Division I-FBS institution. The Aggies had their three-year streak of beating an FBS school snapped last season after losing to Duke.
"There is no question this is a challenging time for our country and the world," said N.C. A&T head coach
Sam Washington who enters the spring with a 19-5 record over his first two seasons as the leader of the Aggies program. "We hope the opportunity for these young men to compete will keep them focused and give them outlet from the serious issues facing our country. They have worked hard and we hope there is a reward for them during the spring season."
