Ford Signs With A&T Men's Golf

Ford was the first, First Tee of East Lake participant and first African American to make the Georgia All-Star Team back in May.

EAST GREENSBORO – The North Carolina A&T men's golf team has added Anthony Ford II (Atlanta, Ga.) to don the Blue & Gold next season for head coach Richard Watkins.
Ford made All-State as a freshman and as a junior and won the Regional 3 Competition as an individual back in May. He was the first, First Tee of East Lake participant and first African American to make the Georgia All-Star Team back in May.  

Additionally, he was selected among the top-16 players nationally to participate in the 2018 Congaree Golf Initiative in South Carolina in June 2018.  
Ford's most significant achievement was having the opportunity to participate in The Pure Insurance Championship at Pebble Beach in September. He finished third at the
Park View Invitational with a score of 75 and also finished third at the Class A Georgia State Championship with scores of 78 and 71.  He finished fourth at the 2018 National First Tee Golf Tournament with scores of 79 and 74.

Ford is the captain of his golf team at Drew Charter School. They are the first all African American team to win a regional championship in Region 3. The school also won a state championship in Georgia. They are also the first all-African American team to participate in the National Championship in Orlando the past June.
