GREENSBORO (July 25, 2017) – Multiple college football preseason accolades are headed toward Brandon Parker (6-foot-7, 309, R-SR, Kannapolis, N.C.) North Carolina A&T's talented and All-American left tackle, over the next few weeks before the Aggies begin the 2017 season. One of the first of those accolades were received on Tuesday when College Football America Yearbook named him to their preseason Football Championship Subdivision Starting Lineup.
Parker has captured the warranted attention of NFL teams. Parker, a four-year starter, has never surrendered a sack in his career and has only been flagged four times in 36 games played. Parker is the reigning two-time Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Offensive Lineman of the Year. He is also a three-time All-MEAC selection with two-first team nods and one third-team mention. Nationally, he was named first-team All-American by STATS FCS in 2016, and he is a two-time Black College Football All-American.
Behind Parker the Aggies have had the MEAC's No. 1 rushing offense three straight seasons. In 2017, the Aggies ranked No. in the conference in third-down conversions, total first downs, rushing offense, scoring offense, fewest tackles for loss allowed, fewest sacks allowed and total offense.
“Each week when we go back and look at film we are normally impressed with just how good Brandon is,” said N.C. A&T head coach Broadway. “He really has good techniques and has gotten stronger and stronger over the years.”
College Football America Yearbook's FCS Starting Lineup is their equivalent of an All-American team. The College Football America 2017 Yearbook features more than 930 college football teams from the United States and Canada over the course of more than 300 striking, full-color pages. That includes every team from the NCAA (FBS, FCS, Division II and Division III), NAIA, NJCAA, CCCAA and U Sports (Canada). It also includes updates on club football, one-year postgraduate prep/sports academies and Mexican college football, along with dozens of action shots and stadium photos.
