Box Score BUIES CREEK (September 20, 2016) – North Carolina A&T volleyball played a tough match at Gore Arena Tuesday night, but the Campbell Fighting Camels ultimately came away with a 3-0 (25-15, 25-20, 25-16) victory over the Aggies.
Te'Borah Hawkins-Hollingsworth led the Aggies, posting a hitting percentage of .286 with three kills and an error on seven attempts.
Junior Jasmine Lindor matched Hawkins-Hollingsworth hitting .286 and added three block assists to her totals. Samara Brown led the team with five kills, but also had five errors. Libero Keniah Rivera Santiago led her team with 16 digs. Alyssa Pitt had a strong performance, coming up with four block assists and three kills with no errors (.231 hitting percentage).
N.C. A&T remained close in Set 2, tying it at 14. The Aggies found themselves tied four times in the third set before the Camels went on a 9-0 run to clinch the match. Jenny Tait led the Camels with 10 kills on her way to a .714 hitting percentage. Setter Summer Schuitema had 26 assists and Jessica Stocking had 13 digs with two service aces.
The Camels outhit the Aggies 41-21 in kills while posting only 15 attack errors on 99 attempts.
The Aggies (2-9) have a break before heading on the road to start the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference portion of their season. They open conference competition at Savannah State (0-16) on Friday, Sept. 30 at 6 p.m., before facing the South Carolina State Bulldogs (0-14) in Orangeburg, S.C., on Sunday, Oct. 2 at 2p.m.
