GREENSBORO – The North Carolina A&T men's tennis team lost their home opener on Saturday morning as Wofford came to the Aggie Tennis Complex and came away with a 7-0 win. Sophomore Brett Caban opened for the Aggies as their No. 1 singles player. He lost to Haris Poric 6-1, 6-0. It was Caban's second straight match at No. 1 after the Aggies contest against North Carolina.
John Wilson IV, who did win at UNC, played No. 6 singles on Saturday. He was not able to win his second consecutive match as he lost to Wofford's Parks Schoen at No. 6 singles, 6-2, 6-2. At No. 3 singles, Arnau Arimon played a tough first set against Parks Thompson, losing 6-4. Thompson was able to defeat Arimon in the second set, 6-2.
Wofford won the doubles point by sweeping the first two matches. The Terriers also won at No. 3 doubles. The Aggies dropped to 0-2 on the season and will play Davidson at the Aggie Tennis Complex on Saturday, Feb. 6. A start time has not been determined.
