GREENSBORO – The North Carolina A&T women's tennis team competed at the newly refurbished Aggie Tennis Complex on Saturday against the Wofford Terriers. The Terriers came away with a 6-1 win. Sheyla Fabiana Ramirez was the only singles win for the Aggies. She earned her first win of the year by defeating Cassidy Hicks, 3-6, 6-2, 10-6 in No. 2 singles.
She joined Khalia Powell as Aggies who have singles wins this season. Powell almost pulled off win No. 2 as she went three sets with Wofford's Kalli Karas before losing 6-3, 2-6, 6-10 in No. 3 singles. N.C. A&T's No. 1 singles player Angelica Maria Ochoa Martinez also went three sets. She lost to Catherine Martin 6-4, 0-6, 6-10.
Wofford won the doubles point by winning both doubles matches on Saturday. The Aggies dropped to 0-2 on the season and will play Western Carolina Sunday at noon at the Aggie Tennis Complex.
