The North Carolina A&T women's tennis team lost 6-1 to College of Charleston Monday afternoon in the Aggies home opener at the Aggie Tennis Complex.
Sophomore Khalia Powell played well for the Aggies, she defeated Sarah Jones 3-6, 6-4, 10-6 for the Aggies only singles match win. Powell dominated the final two sets to win her first match of the season.
The Aggies also received a strong performance from Nadia Hilton-Adams. She battled College of Charleston's Helena Nyikos before losing 7-5 in the final set after losing 6-3 in the first. College of Charleston took the doubles point by winning both matches. The Aggies had an overall strong performance, failing to score in only one set.
N.C. A&T is back in action on Saturday, January 23 when they travel to Raleigh to face N.C. State.
