AGGIE FOOTBALL GAME CENTRAL

Broadway debuts as Aggies head coach

North Carolina A&T kicks off the season against Virginia University of Lynchburg on Saturday, September 3 at 4 p.m., from Aggie Stadium. It will be the debut game for Rod Broadway, who in his previous two stops, led teams to Black College National Championships. His latest challenge is daunting as he takes over a team with more walk-ons than scholarship players. If the past is any indication, however, Broadway will get the Aggies back on track eventually. He was 33-11 at N.C. Central from 2003-06, and he was 35-12 at Grambling State from 2007-2010.

Radio Syndication

The Aggies will not only introduce a new head coach on Saturday, but it will also debut a new radio syndication venture. Aggie fans outside of the Piedmont area can listen to Aggies football live throughout the state. Spencer Gwynn, Billy Covington and Mel Swann will bring the radio broadcast to the Piedmont audience on Saturday. The syndicated game will be broadcasted by Donal Ware (play-by-play) and Eric Curry.

What Did He Say?

Rod Broadway on rebuilding
"We have a lack of depth, so it will take the team awhile to get on track because we are so far down as far as scholarships. We only have 33 scholarship students playing and five of those are injured. We're going uphill on a skateboard with no wheels."

Rod Broadway on Game 1
"Of course I still have jitters on game day. It's always a new challenge every year, and you can never anticipate how your team will play. How they react when something goes wrong and how they react when something goes well will tell me a lot about the type of team we have."
