DOVER, Del. - North Carolina A&T ran into a strong pitching performance on Sunday in an 11-1 loss to Delaware State at Soldier Field. The loss drops the Aggies to 6-8 in the MEAC with four conference games remaining. The Aggies have a makeup game against Norfolk State on Wednesday, May 11 in Norfolk, Va.
They close the conference season with a three-game series against Coppin State before the MEAC Tournament begins May 19-21 in Daytona Beach, Fla. y 12-14. Freshman Luke Tendler had a hit and an RBI for the Aggies.
DSU starter Elliott Gardner held the Aggies to just two hits. He walked five and struck out five in improving his record to 4-5 on the season. Keith Hernandez led the Hornets with two hits and three RBIs. The Aggies return to action against Coppin State 1 p.m., Saturday, May 7 at War Memorial Stadium.
