HIGH POINT - High Point completed a three-game sweep of the North Carolina A&T baseball team with a 9-2 win Sunday afternoon at Williard Stadium. Xavier Macklin led the Aggies with two hits. Marquis Riley and Dairio Little both scored for N.C. A&T. The Panthers scored their first six runs on four hits.
N.C. A&T got on the board in the board in the fourth inning as Marquis Riley was hit by a pitch to open the inning. Little put runners on third and second with a double to left field. High Point starter Mike Caldwell was called for a balk, allowing Riley to score.
After Caldwell walked Craig Erskine, Kelvin Freeman hit into a double play. Little scored on the play double play to cut the Panthers lead to 6-2. The Aggies never got any closer. Caldwell picked up the win, while Brett Moore dropped to 1-3 with the loss.
N.C. A&T returns to action 3 p.m., Wednesday at War Memorial Stadium as they face Gardner-Webb.
