GREENSBORO - North Carolina A&T's volleyball team will open the 2010 season at the High Point University Classic on Aug. 27. The Aggies will open against Appalachian State at 4:30 p.m.
N.C. A&T is trying to recover from the worst season in school history. Therefore, second-year head coach Toni Conway has reloaded with a team that features nine freshmen, one sophomore and just one senior. Aggie fans will get their first look at the rookie-dominated team on Friday, Sept. 3 when they face Savannah State, one of the two newest members of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference, at 6 p.m., from Corbett Sports Center. The other new member - N.C. Central - comes to Corbett on Wednesday, Oct. 6 at 6 p.m. Neither game will count toward the conference standings.
The games that do count toward the conference begin 6 p.m., Friday, Oct. 8 when the Aggies host Norfolk State at Corbett. The Aggies other home games include Wofford (Sept. 21), Gardner-Webb (Oct. 12), S.C. Upstate (Oct. 27), Bethune-Cookman (Oct. 29), Florida A&M (Oct. 31) and S.C. State (Nov. 7).
Games against Wofford, Gardner-Webb, S.C. Upstate and S.C. State will be broadcasted live on pay per view basis at www.ncataggies.com's Aggie Access feature.
