Women's Volleyball NC A&T Sports Information

AGGIES FALL IN SEASON OPENER

WILLIAMSBURG, Va., -- The North Carolina A&T volleyball team played without its sensational sophomore setter Jordan Gray and it showed on Friday in the team's season opener as Maryland-Eastern Shore defeated the Aggies 3-0 (25-10, 25-17, 25-12) in the 2009 Tribe Invitational played at William and Mary University.

Seniors Tiffany Mellette and Janae Mitchell had four kills apiece against the Fighting Hawks. Mellette also added four blocks.

The Aggies also lost later in the day to Ohio State 3-0 (25-5, 25-7, 25-19). Mitchell led the way with six kills. The Aggies open play with Rider at 10 a.m., on Saturday before closing out the invitational with a match against William and Mary at 2:30 p.m.
