Has the potential to be a game changer for the Aggies … Is a combo guard with a scorer’s mentality … Women’s basketball staff loves her toughness and ability to score anywhere on the floor … Has good range from beyond the arc and also has the ability to attack the basket and make plays … Robinson says he sees her as the missing piece to the puzzle, meaning that she is going to do whatever the team needs to be successful … Her academic reputation is just as high as her basketball reputation.

2014-15 Season: Played in seven games without a start … Scored five points in a win over Guilford College on Jan. 5 in five minutes of action … Hit a 3-pointer and was 2-for-2 at the free throw line …  Appeared in four straight games from Dec. 21- Jan. 2 which included opponents Chattanooga, VCU, Duke, and Guilford College.

High School: Played four varsity seasons at Western High School under head coach Dafne Lee-Blakney … Received the team’s Unsung Hero award as a senior … Named the MVP as a sophomore and junior … Was a three-time scholar athlete at Western.

Personal: Full name is Maiya Elaine Gibson …She is the daughter of Bruce and Deborah Gibson…Has two siblings,  Aliyah and Jailyn …She was born on April 6, 1996 …Her major is Sports Science & Fitness Management … Likes to bake and has an interest in photography… Her favorite book is the Twilight series and her show is “Hollywood Game Night” … Her favorite food is chicken fingers… Chose A&T because of the family environment and the team’s will to win.
