Eric Hart

Dr. Eric D. Hart was promoted to Deputy Athletics Director August 1, 2019 having served as Associate
Athletic Director and Executive Director of Major Gifts since December 2017. In his new role, Hart will
supervise sports programs while continuing to work with the Aggie Athletic Foundation to secure major
gifts that support the athletic department. In addition to supervising the external operations of the athletics
department, Dr. Hart will manage on-boarding practices of new athletic department employees;
advocating their successful transition from first day to first year.  
                                   
Hart successfully secured new revenue through generous commitments from Aggie Athletic Foundation
donors in the form of scholarship endowments and athletic programmatic funding. The Aggie Athletic
Foundation achieved a milestone by closing 2018 with over $900K raised in private contributions. 2019, Hart helped the AAF achieve another record by raising over $1M in private support.

Dr. Hart earned his doctoral degree in Global Sport Leadership Development in May 2019 from East
Tennessee State University and has advanced degrees from The University of Georgia and The University of Tennessee. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Appalachian State University where he was a student
athlete.
 
He has served higher education in various administrative and athletic capacities since 1999 at the
University of Tennessee, the University of Georgia, Appalachian State University, Delaware State
University, and Guilford College. Dr. Hart is married to Erin Hill Hart, who currently serves as Chief of
Staff at North Carolina A&T State University. They are the proud parents of two sons, Ethan and Evan.
