North Carolina A&T head football coach Shawn Gibbs named Alvance Robinson as the Aggies’ wide receiver coach on March 19, 2026.
Robinson brings eight years of coaching experience, most recently as offensive coordinator at the University of West Florida in 2024. He previously coached UWF's wide receivers from 2019-2021, when the program won the 2019 NCAA Division II national championship.
Under Robinson's leadership, the Argonaut offense helped the team to a 7-3 overall record and a 5-2 finish in the Gulf South Conference (GSC), securing an appearance in the GSC championship game. UWF ranked second in the GSC in scoring offense and points per game (33.0), showcasing its prowess with a school-record 70-point performance and the largest margin of victory in program history (70).
Robinson also boasts experience at both the FCS and professional levels.
Before returning to West Florida, he coached wide receivers for the DC Defenders in 2023, helping them win the XFL North Division Championship. The franchise now competes in the United Football League. He also spent the 2021 season at Gardner-Webb University as the wide receivers coach and passing game coordinator.
Robinson began coaching at Marietta College (2015-17) in Division III and moved to Davenport University (2017-19) in Division II. He transitioned to coaching after a seven-year professional playing career, including one year in the Canadian Football League and six in the American Football League.
Robinson attended Alabama State University, earning a degree in interdisciplinary studies. He holds the school's single-season touchdown record with 12.
Robinson and his wife, Nena, have four children: Alijah, Natalie, Russell, and Nia.
