Quarles is a major reason why expectations are high for the Aggies track and field program going forward…Had a productive season in the jump pit and on the track…Should also help the track team academically…Had a personal indoor-best 23-feet, 10 ¼ inches in the long jump….Earned third-team All-MEAC honors during the indoor season in the long jump.  

2013-14 Indoor Season: Competed in six indoor meets … In his Aggies debut, placed first in the long jump at the JDL College Kick-off Classic at 23-feet, 2 ¾ inches on Dec. 7…At the Wake Forest Invitational on Jan. 11, placed fourth in the long jump at 23-feet, ½ inch… Won the long jump at the UNCG Spartans Team Challenge with a personal-best jump of 23-feet, 10 ¼ inches on Jan. 26… At the MEAC Indoor Championships, finished third in the long jump at 23-feet, 4 inches to earn third-team all-conference honors.

2014 Outdoor Season: Competed in three outdoor meets… Helped the 1600 meter relay place fourth at the Charlotte 49er Classic at 3:16.

High school: Attended Douglas Byrd High School and competed four years on varsity under coach First Sargent Robert Freeman…Five-time state champion for Class 3A in North Carolina…Won the state twice in the long jump and three times in the 4x400-meter relay…First place in long jump at the Golden South Classics in Florida from 2011-2013…Second in the nation for long jump at Junior Nationals.
