  • The Aggies come back home for the athletics department's annual Greek Night, where the Divine Nine puts its history, colors, and stepping skills on display in the midst of an A&T basketball game.
  • The Aggies will need support as they take on a Hofstra team that has beaten ACC schools Pitt and Syracuse. After a 4-0 start in the CAA, the Pride lost its last two with losses to Stony Brook and Elon. On Saturday, the Aggies will face a Towson team slated to play at Elon on Thursday.
  • The Aggies will need to have their defense on full display tonight, an area where they have struggled in conference play thus far. In conference games, only the Aggies rank 11th in the league in field goal percentage defense (.483). The Aggies also rank 12th in scoring defense in conference games only (83.5), but they are seventh in scoring (74.3), just below Hofstra (76.2).
  • A&T's outstanding freshman Lewis Walker has had an up-and-down month. He posted six points against Elon on January 8, marking the first time in 13 games Lewis Walker failed to score in double figures. He then followed that up with 33 points at William & Mary on January 15, breaking the single-game freshman scoring record.
  • He went 11-for-14 from the floor in breaking Sean Booker's record from January 27, 2004, when Booker scored 29 points against Bethune-Cookman. But he had only six points at Hampton on Monday.
  • A&T is still eagerly awaiting Lureon Walker's return to the court. Walker showcased the ability to score the basketball over the Aggies' first three games, scoring 22, 22, and 25 against South Carolina, S.C. State, and Washington Adventist. He missed A&T's next three games with an ailment before returning on Dec. 6 to score 13 points off the bench in a win over archrival North Carolina Central University (NCCU). He played 21 minutes against Howard on Dec. 9, but has not played since.
  • The Aggies have lost six straight after a three-game winning streak in December gave them their best start since the 1991-92 season.
  • A&T is one win away from surpassing its win total from the previous two seasons, when the Aggies won seven games apiece. A&T is looking for its first winning season ever in the CAA and its first winning season overall since going 11-10 during the 2020-21 season
  • The Aggies have a roster full of transfers, but they are still inexperienced in the Division I men's basketball world. The Aggies' leading scorer, Lewis Walker, is a redshirt freshman after not playing as a true freshman at UMass last season. Starting point guard Dwayne Powell is a sophomore who played at a junior college last season.
  • Forward Zamoku Weluche-Ume played one game last season at George Washington University after sustaining a wrist injury. He played only 15 games as a true freshman at GWU. Meanwhile, starting center Amadou Doumbia played 15 games as a true freshman at UMass.
  • The Aggie with the most experience is junior guard Trent Middelton, Jr. Going into today's game, Middleton has played in 77 Division I college basketball games. The next-closest Aggie in terms of experience is junior Bryson Ogletree, who has played 36 DI games. Even Will Felton, who graduated from high school in 2021, has only played 26 DI games.
  • A&T is in its fourth season in the CAA and will be playing its first CAA road game of the season. The Aggies are 8-20 at Corbett Sports Center against CAA opponents. The Aggies are still looking for their first home CAA win of the season, in addition to their first CAA win overall in 2025-26.
  • Lewis Walker continues to lead the Aggies in scoring at 18.4 points per game. Walker has scored 20 or more points five times this season. The last time an Aggie freshman had six 20-plus scoring games in a season, which is a program record for a freshman.
  • The highest scoring average by an A&T freshman in program history was set by James Sparrow, who averaged 15.5 points per game during the 1974-75 season.
  • Weluche-Ume has scored in double figures in his last seven games. Weluche-Ume, a London, England native, is averaging 14.0 points and 7.9 rebounds per game over his last seven outings. He also has three double-doubles in his last four games.

  • Hofstra leads the conference in free throw shooting (.743) and 3-point shooting (.377). The Pride is 25th in 3-point shooting, making 9.3 3-pointers per game, which is second-best in the CAA.
  • Speedy Claxton is in his fifth season with the Hofstra Pride. He spent eight seasons as an assistant at Hofstra before becoming the head coach in 2021. Claxton played for the Pride from 1996-00 before embarking on a nine-year NBA career, during which he played for five teams.
  • He is 94-58 as the Pride's head coach, leading Hofstra to the NIT second round during the 2022-23 season.
