0227_Victorya WhiteGREENSBORO – The trend continued for the North Carolina A&T bowling program on Thursday. The Aggies will enter their fifth straight season with the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Preseason Bowler of the Year on their team. Sophomore Victorya White, the 2024-25 MEAC Rookie of the Year, was named the conference's preseason player of the year entering the 2025-26 season.

In addition, head coaches and sports information directors from around the league selected the five-time defending MEAC regular-season champions to win the regular season again in 2025-26. A&T was voted as the preseason favorites for the fifth consecutive season. The Aggies have won five out of the last seven MEAC tournament championships.

White secured preseason first-team All-MEAC honors along with sophomore teammate Jasmine Hall. White finished the 2025-26 season on a strong note. The National Tenpin Coaches Association (NTCA) named her to its all-rookie team in addition to naming her a third-team All-American.

Before those accolades, White did secure conference rookie of the year honors, becoming the first Aggie to win the MEAC rookie award since Ana Olaya in 2018. If White wins MEAC Bowler of the Year at season's end, it will mark the sixth consecutive season an Aggie has secured the award, joining Maya Avilez (2024-25), Lauren Tomaszeweski (2023-24), Melanie Katen (2022-23 & 2022-23), and Cameron Strombeck (2020-21).

Katen earned preseason Bowler of the Year from 2021-24, while Strombeck secured preseason honors prior to the 2020-21 season, and Avilez secured them before the 2024-25 season.

White ranked in the top 15 nationally in five statistical categories, including 14th in player composite performance index (PCPI), which measures the effectiveness of a bowler. She also ranked 11th in strike percentage (53.2). White helped the Aggies advance to the NCAA Rochester Regional, where she bowled well enough to put the Aggies on the verge of making the Final Four before falling to Youngstown State.

In March, White qualified for the Intercollegiate Singles Championships (ISCs) sponsored by the United States Bowling Congress (USBC) by finishing with the third-highest qualifying time at the Allen Park, Mich., sectional. White qualified among 171 bowlers at the sectional with a total pinfall of 1,298. She competed for the singles title in Las Vegas last April but fell short.

Hall had an outstanding freshman season. Her 55.2 strike percentage was second only to White on the team last season. She also had a spare conversion percentage of 74.7, and she made 86.9 percent of her makeable spares. Hall's single-pin square percentage was 85.7 percent.

The Aggies secured 12 first-place votes and 110 points to head into the season as the conference favorites. Long-time rival, the University of Maryland Eastern Shore UMES), received one first-place vote and 101 points, and was predicted to finish second. Delaware State (83 points) and UAB rounded out the top four, with UAB receiving two first-place votes.

A&T opens the season at the Destination Florida tournament hosted by Sacred Heart at AMF Sky Lanes, October 24-26.
