Men's Golf Watches Program Records Fall During Day 2 of PGA Works

Javier Morgado ties a program record by shooting a 65 on Tuesday.

KHOLER, Wis. – North Carolina A&T men's golf program records came tumbling down on Tuesday during the second round of the 2025 PGA Works Championship held at the par 72, 6,709-yard historic Whistling Straits – Irish golf course.

The Aggies climbed six spots to go from eighth place after the first round on Monday to second place after Tuesday's action. A&T's incredible ascension was fueled by the Aggies shooting a program-record 10-under  278. A&T's round breaks the previous program record, where the Aggies shot 279 on October 15, 2024 at Elon's Phoenix Invitational at the Alamance County Country Club.

Freshman Javier Morgado led the charge for A&T by tying the program-record for lowest score in a round. Morgado shot 7-under 65 on Tuesday, tying Diego Gonzalez's lowest score in a round record Gonzalez set on October 10, 2022, at the Elon's Phoenix Invitational at Alamance County Country Club. Gonzelez set his mark on a par 71 course while Morgado's came on par 72, making him the first Aggie to shoot 7-under on a course during a round.
