WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – North Carolina A&T men's golf had an incredible, record-breaking day on the par-71, 6,764-yard The Park golf course at the 2026 PGA Works Collegiate Championship on Wednesday. Unfortunately for the Aggies, Florida A&M also had a superb afternoon on The Park course, holding off A&T to win the tournament title.
A&T entered Wednesday's final round 13 shots behind the leader with a 12-over 580. The Aggies then delivered a program-record 8-under 276 to finish with a three-round total of 8-over 856. Their performance beat the previous record by three shots, surpassing the 279 shot at Elon University's Phoenix Invitational on October 15, 2024.
However, the Rattlers matched the Aggies' efforts on Wednesday, shooting a final round 7-under 277. That means despite A&T's record-breaking round, the Aggies only took one shot off the Rattlers lead from Tuesday. FAMU won the tournament with a three-round total of 8-under 844. Prairie View A&M rounded out the top three with a 22-over 289-298-287—874.
Individually, the Aggies dominated the top five. Three Aggies secured spots among the top five, with two A&T golfers tying for fifth place. Sophomore Pedro Pereia climbed three positions on the leaderboard after firing a final round 4-under 67 to claim third. Pereia ended the tournament with a 2-under 72-72-67—211, finishing 10 shots back.
FAMU's Sascha Robinson won the individual title with a 12-under 201, finishing eight strokes ahead of Alabama State's Quad Woods (4-under 209). FAMU's Phalatphon Viboonviriyasakul placed fourth (even par 213) ahead of a three-way tie for fifth place that included A&T graduate
Drew Walker and A&T sophomore
Ignacio Zapata.
Walker fired a final-round 67 to leap eight spots on the leaderboard and finish with a 1-over 72-75-67—214. Zapata dropped two spots after a 72 on Tuesday's second round and finished with 71-71-72—214. The two Aggies joined Prairie View A&M's Joah Bramwell in a fifth-place tie.
Pereia delivered one of his best rounds this season. He opened with a birdie on the par-5, 562-yard first before notching another birdie on the 239-yard, par-3 fifth. A bogey on No. 6 slowed him briefly, but he recovered with another birdie on the 580-yard par-5 ninth, making the turn at 2-under.
He began the back nine with a bogey on the par-4 10th before sinking four straight successful par putts. Pereia then converted more birdies, carding three in his final four holes, starting with a four on the par-5, 508-yard 15th. She also birdied the 301-yard, par-4 16th, and the 584-yard par-5 18th as he closed his season on a hot streak.
Walker's front nine drove his 67. He collected four birdies, starting with a three on the par-4, 448-yard fourth. He also birdied No. 6, the 366-yard par-4, before scoring birdies on the 401-yard par-4 eighth and the ninth.
The only thing that slowed him down was a bogey on the par-3 seventh. He bogeyed two more holes on the back nine but also posted three additional birdies to give him seven for the round. It is one short of his program record eight birdies in a round on March 10 at Appalachian State's Surf Club Invitational. On Wednesday, he birdied the 448-yard 12th, the 16th, and the 18th.
Sophomore
Javier Morgado recorded a final round 70 to post a 7-over 75-75-70—220. He played steadily, birdieing three holes and registering 13 pars. Morgado tied for 15th, finishing three spots ahead of freshman teammate
Emilio Hernandez, who posted a three-round total of 9-over 72-76-74—222.
A&T's second-place finish at PGA Works caps a phenomenal season, as the Aggies won a single-season program record four tournaments. Additionally, three different golfers received CAA weekly honors.
