Unfortunately, two bogeys followed before he found success again on the 584-yard par 5 14th with his fourth birdie in seven holes played. Alvarado finished the back nine with a bogey and three straight pars to make the turn at 1-under.
A bogey on No. 1 moved him back to even par. Alvarado remained at even par until a bogey on the par 4 fifth moved him into plus numbers for the first time. He remedied that by closing his round with a three on the par 4, 417-yard seventh.
Morgado also had a good start to his round. He teed off at the par 4, 438-yard ninth and posted a birdie. Morgado started his back nine with seven straight pars before a bogey on 17 knocked him back to even par. A par on 18 started another streak of pars for Morgado, who put together four straight pars before a bogey on the par 4 fourth. His day ended with two more pars and two more bogeys.
