Box Score

ORLANDO, Fla. – North Carolina A&T men's tennis is still undefeated after an abbreviated match against Loyola University Maryland Wednesday afternoon at the United States Tennis Association (USTA) National Campus.

The two teams did not play doubles because of impending inclement weather. Therefore, the Aggies did what they needed to do during six singles matches as they defeated Loyola 5-1.

A&T's standout player from Tuesday, sophomore Kaua Santos, who won the clinching match in A&T's 4-3 win over Howard, got the Aggies started on Wednesday with a straight-set, 6-0, 6-1 victory over the Greyhounds' No. 3 singles player Ryan Boland. Sophomore Said Akbarov won at No. 4 singles with a 6-3, 6-0 win over Ryan Gill.

Junior Mathieu Dussaubat earned another win at No. 6 singles with an impressive 6-4, 6-0 win over Dylan Koziol. The Aggies took a 4-0 lead when sophomore Lucas Coupo-Moison defeated George Cavo 6-1, 6-0 at No. 2 singles. A&T senior Ian Pedersen, playing at No. 1 singles for the second time this season, won a competitive first set over Noah Castillo 7-6, including a tiebreaker win.

Pedersen trailed 6-5 in the first set before making the rally. He then won the match with a 6-3 win over Castillo in the second set.

The Greyhounds did get a win at No. 5 singles as Blake Edwards defeated freshman Jindrich Brill 7-5, 2-6, 1-0. Brill held a 5-4 lead in the first set before Edwards staged his comeback.

The Aggies will try to go undefeated during their spring break trip to Orlando when they face Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) at 10 a.m. on Thursday at USTA National Campus.
