BURLINGTON, N.C. – Drew Walker took charge of the par-71, 6,871-yard Alamance Country Club golf course during the second round of the Elon Phoenix Invitational Monday afternoon. Walker's second-round showing has him in a seven-way tie for 27th.

Walker sat in 37th place after Monday's first round before his 3-under 68 second round. Walker shot a two-round 1-under 141 after shooting a 73 in the first round. Presbyterian's Jack Wofford leads the tournament at 9-under 133, followed by Elon's Garrett Risner, Appalachian State's Addison Bearm and Western Carolina's Mangus Pedersen (135) in a three-way tie for second.

A&T shot a 28-over 596 on Monday. The Aggies are 47 shots behind tournament leader Western Carolina, who shot a two-round 19-under 549. Elon is one shot off the lead at 18-under 550. Presbyterian (555), George Washington (559) and Francis Marion (562) round out the top-5.

Walker started the day on No. 12, a par-5, 513-yard hole. Walker birdied the hole before birdieing the next hole, a 439-yard par 4. He moved back to even for the round with back-to-back bogeys. He parred the next three holes before moving to the front nine. Walker bogeyed two of the first holes on the front nine before carding another birdie on the par 5, 542-yard sixth.

Walker had a bogey on No. 9 to end as his round ended at 2-over. He started the second round like he did the first with a birdie on 12 before a double bogey moved him to 3-over for the tournament. Walker parred the next eight holes to reach the par-4, 414-yard fifth. Walker's birdie on the fifth started a birdie streak that saw him birdie the par-5 sixth and the par-4 seventh to get to even par. He finished the round with a three on the par-4 376-yard 11th.

Camilo Marin had one birdie during the first round to shoot 78. Two double bogeys offset his four second-round birdies. He had a bogey on the 18th to finish the second with a 72. He is 10-over for the tournament and in a six-way tie for 73rd.

Tyler Partee (152), Owen Walsh (153) and Ayush Bohdale (161) stepped on the course for the Aggies as well.
