Volleyball Announces Volleyball Camp

A&T volleyball will host three separate camps.

EAST GREENSBORO – On Wednesday, North Carolina A&T head volleyball coach Hal Clifton announced hosting three volleyball camps on the campus of North Carolina A&T State University.

The camps will run from June 29-July 1, starting with the beginner and middle school camp on June 29 at Historic Moore Gymnasium (John W. Mitchell Drive) and Corbett Sports Center (405 N. Benbow Road). Check-in begins at 8:30 a.m., and the camp runs from 9 a.m.-noon at Corbett.

Clifton and his staff designed the beginner one-day camp for rising sixth, seventh and eighth-grade beginners and will offer instruction and training in passing, setting, attacking, serving and defense. In addition, the camp emphasizes developing court movement, ball control and game competition.

Campers will put the techniques into practice with a variety of drills, games and competitions. Campers are divided by age, skill level and experience, which provide the optimal learning environment.

The other two camps feature advanced-level high school campers. Session 1 is June 30, and Session 2 is July 1. A player can attend both sessions by selecting the dual session from the menu. Each day starts at 9 a.m. and finishes at 8 p.m.

High School Advanced Camp is designed for rising ninth, 10th, 11th and 12th-grade players. Players should have at least one year of travel ball or high school experience and be able to train for an entire day.

The one-day camp will offer instruction and training in the skills and techniques of passing, setting, attacking, serving and defense. In addition, the camp emphasizes developing court movement, ball control and game competition. Campers can use those skills through various drills, games and competitions throughout a full day of practice. Please look forward to getting the North Carolina A&T State Volleyball program experience.

Clifton picked up his 100th career win at Hampton on Oct. 8 and has led the Aggies to a .500 winning percentage or higher in the last five seasons. The A&T volleyball program recorded its first-ever Power Five win in 2021 when it defeated Virginia Tech on Sept. 18.

The Aggies went to its third consecutive postseason tournament when they earned an at-large bid to the National Invitational Volleyball Championship (NIVC) in December 2021. In the spring of 2021, the volleyball program won its first-ever conference tournament by winning the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) championship as they made their first NCAA tournament appearance. The Aggies also went to the NIVC in 2019.
