HEATING UP: Junior Kayla Douglas is sporting a 3.44 ERA giving up 10 earned runs in 20.1 innings pitched in five appearances. Douglas recorded her first start of the season at Elon on Wednesday, going the distance and giving up three runs.

WHO'S ON FIRE: Freshman Mariah Headen is sporting a 2.23 ERA with a 1-1 record giving up five earned runs in 15.2 innings pitched with eight strikeouts. Headen recorded her first collegiate win in the second game of a doubleheader against Western Carolina last week.

AGGIES OVERVIEW: Last time out, A&T stepped out of the Big South schedule to face future Colonial Athletic Conference opponent Elon. The Aggies jumped out to a 2-0 lead after the first two innings, but a bases-clearing double with the bases loaded allowed the Phoenix to defeat A&T 3-2 Wednesday.

Sophomore Kendall Macauley went 2-for-4 in the game. Freshman Dezianna Patmon recorded the only RBI, and graduate Jazzmaine Hammond and sophomore Alyxx Estrada scored.

SPARTANS OVERVIEW: The USC Upstate Spartans are on a 12-game winning streak, with their last loss coming to Campbell on March 20. When Western Carolina scored a run in the bottom of the seventh in the first game of an April 6 doubleheader, it marked the first time in 40 innings an opponent had scored a run against the Spartans.

Summer Johnson leads the team with a .381 batting average. Madison Lanoux has a .369 batting average. Peyton Darnell leads the team and the Big South with 12 home runs and 46 RBI.

Alyssa Kelly leads the team in the circle with a 13-1 record and a 1.37 ERA. The reigning Big South pitcher of the week, Hannah House has a 21-2 record and a 1.40 ERA. She has a Big-South best 185 strikeouts.
