HEATING UP: The Aggies are 4-3 in their last seven contests while batting .321. All four of their wins in that span have been one-run games. 

WHO'S ON FIRE: Freshman third baseman Dezianna Patmon is hitting .526 (10-for-19) in her last seven games with four RBI, a double, a home run and seven runs scored. Freshman catcher Jailyn Tineo is hitting .571 (8-for-14) with eight RBI, four doubles and two runs scored in the last seven games.

AGGIES OVERVIEW: The Aggies went 1-1 in the Chanticleer Showdown hosted by Coastal Carolina last weekend, with the two Sunday games canceled due to rain. A&T defeated Dartmouth 5-4 in eight innings to give the Aggies a 5-1 record in one-run games and a 2-2 record in extra-inning contests. 

The Aggies are the third-best hitting team in the Big South with a .284 average. They also have the third-best fielding team in the league, accumulating a .959 fielding percentage over their first 13 games. 

Head coach Patti Raduenz is in her third season at A&T. The COVID-19 pandemic cut her first season to only 23 games played. Raduenz led the Aggies to the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Southern Division title in year two. 

EAGLES OVERVIEW: North Carolina Central went 0-5 last weekend at the UNCW Tournament with four run-ruled games. Jaidyn Hamby leads the team with a .333 batting average, while Madison Mifsud has a .207 batting average. Jaden Davis leads the Eagles in the circle with a 2-3 mark and a 5.75 ERA. 

News & Notes: 

  • Dezianna Patmon and Desttany Parker share the longest streak of reaching base safely in a game at eight. 
  • Jailyn Tineo and Kendall Macauley share the longest hitting streak at five games.
  • Alyxx Estrada has four multiple-RBI games with two 3-RBI games. 
  • Tineo became the second consecutive Aggie to receive Big South freshman of the week honors (2/28). Patmon received the award on Feb. 22.
  • A&T and NCCU shared the same conference, the MEAC, from 2010-2021 before the Aggies moved to the Big South. The Aggies were 14-18 against the Eagles over that span.
