NORTH CAROLINA A&T AGGIES (13-13, 10-6 Big South): North Carolina A&T bounced back from a road loss to Longwood last week to defeat Hampton 68-51 on Saturday outscoring the Pirates 48-20 in the second half at Corbett Sports Center.
Kiana Adderton led the Aggies with 25 points and 11 rebounds. Chanin Scott added 12 points. In the earlier matchup on Jan. 19, the Aggies had six players score in double figures, led by Scott with 15 points. Faith Blackstone and Shareka McNeill had 14 points apiece.
Head coach Tarrell Robinson is in his 10th season as the head coach at A&T. He is 188-106 overall and 119-35 (.773) against conference competition. Robinson needs four wins to become the program's all-time winningest coach. Robinson has won four regular-season Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) titles and three MEAC tournament championships.
CHARLESTON SOUTHERN BUCCANEERS (2-24, 2-13 Big South): Charleston Southern has lost the last eight games with the previous win, 55-53, against USC Upstate on Jan. 22.
Alyssia Faye leads the team with 8.2 points and 5.8 rebounds per game. Janaia Fargo averages 8.1 points, and Skylar Baltezegar leads the team with 6.0 rebounds per game. In the January meeting, Faye led the team with 12 points, followed by Baltezegar's 11 points and Fargo's 10.
Clarisse Garcia is in her first year as a head coach at Charleston Southern.
THE SERIES: Charleston Southern has won all three meetings in Charleston, S.C., while the Aggies have won all three meetings in Corbett Sports Center. A&T tied the biggest win in the series with an 88-50 win on Jan. 19.
QUOTABLE: "Our goal going into our last two regular-season games is to end the season on a high note as we begin conference tournament play. That goal starts with winning on the road against a Charleston Southern team that has played very well at home against the top teams in the Big South."
