Bowling Opens 2022-23 Season 4-0

The Aggies knocked down a tournament-best 5,194 pins.

HARAHAN, La. – North Carolina A&T began the bowling season Friday with a strong performance at the Colonial Classic hosted by Tulane University Friday at the Colonial Lanes.  

The seventh-ranked Aggies recorded at least 1,000 pins in four of their five Baker matches and defeated two teams in the top-25.

A&T went 4-0 and totaled 5,194 pins for an average of 207.8 pins to lead No. 14 Maryland Eastern Shore by 109 pins. UMES also went 4-0, recording 5,085 points for an average of 203.4.

The Aggies started the day with a 961-881 win over Texas Southern. The 961 marked A&T's lowest score on Friday. 

N.C. A&T followed with its highest score of the day with a 1,122-919 win over No. 24 Lincoln Memorial. Then, the Aggies remained unbeaten with a 1,065-934 win over host No. 17 Tulane.

In the next match, the Aggies knocked down 1,002 in a bye and finished the day with a 1,044-839 victory over Prairie View A&M.

The tournament continues Saturday with five traditional matches. N.C. A&T starts with two top 5 teams in No. 4 Stephen F. Austin and No. 5 Sam Houston State and finishes with three teams from the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) in Alabama State, Alabama A&M and Southern.
