EAST GREENSBORO – The North Carolina A&T women's bowling team will compete in the PVAMU Invite, hosted by Prairie View A&M, Friday-Sunday in Arlington, Texas.
The Aggies competed in their first event in 2022 last weekend with the LIU Northeast Classic and finished eighth out of 18 teams that featured eight of the top-10 teams.
This weekend won't be any easier for the Aggies, the fourth-ranked team in the National Tenpin Coaches Association (NTCA) poll. Eleven of the top-12 teams in the NTCA poll will participate in the PVAMU Invite, including the top eight.
Six of those top teams competed last week at the Northeast Classic, including the nation's top two ranked teams in top-ranked Sam Houston State and McKendree. Third-ranked Nebraska along with Vanderbilt (No.5), Arkansas State (No.6), Louisiana Tech (No. 7), Youngstown State (No. 8), Tulane (No. 13, Fairleigh Dickinson (No. 15) and Sacred Heart (No. 19) will also compete this weekend.
The only unranked team this weekend is host PVAMU.
A&T is 7-17 against the teams in this weekend's field. A&T has one week off before heading north to Baltimore, Md., for the James Brown Invitational, hosted by Morgan State from Feb. 11-13.
