Jones Gets Honor Ahead of MEAC Tournament

Jones is also a Ben Jobe Award finalist for the second consecutive year.

EAST GREENSBORO – North Carolina A&T men's basketball head coach Will Jones has been selected as the Coaches Database and HoopsHD Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) coach of the year and a Ben Jobe Award finalist, presented annually to the top Division I minority coach.

This is the second-straight season that Jones has been named a finalist for the Ben Jobe Award. He is one of three coaches from the MEAC to be selected, joined by Morgan State's Kevin Broadus and Norfolk State's Robert Jones.

Jones put together the best record in the MEAC in terms of winning percentage at 7-1 (.875). He also led the Aggies to their first MEAC regular-season title since 1992 and first No. 1 seed in the conference tournament since 1992.

Under Jones, the Aggies led the conference in steals (8.6 per game), turnover margin (plus-4.75) and offensive rebound percentage (.352). A&T also had one postseason All-MEAC selection in senior point guard Kameron Langley. The conference named him to their second team and their all-defensive team.

Langley led the league in assists (6.7) and steals per game (2.9) throughout the season.
